About the author

Andrey Bezlepkin is a Russian documentary photographer and journalist. He was born in 1979 and resides just outside Moscow. Works on long-term projects about subcultures and small communities, little-known places in the Russian regions and the lives of indigenous peoples.

His work has been published in National Geographic Russia, National Geographic Denmark, Harvard Business Review Russia, Kommersant, Foto& Video, Foma and other media.

His one-man exhibition, ‘The Land of a Thousand Spirits, ’ was dedicated to the nature, culture and traditions of the Barguzin Valley in Buryatia. He has participated in various exhibitions such as ‘The Soyots of the Eastern Sayan, ’ ‘Unique Aquatic Features of Russia’ and ‘The Volga Biennale.’
